Five for Friday

Whoa! What a week it has been! We've been so busy over here that I haven't had a chance to breathe. This second quarter has been flying by and it isn't going to slow down anytime soon.

I'm linking up with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday.  Let me just say again, I'm exhausted. So, let's get right to it!

I just need to say that I implemented the brag tag system this year and I am in love! My students love them. I love them. Everyone who walks into my room is asking about them.   I dedicated one small bulletin board in my room this year our brag tags.

I used the Mini Editable Labels by Angie at Lucky Little Learners to make their name tags at the top. If you're interested in them, you can find them {here}.  And, because I am a little OCD about things looking uniform, I made the numbered labels for the front.  They coincide with the number the students use on their work.
I've been using brag tags from many sources.  Some of them are from Aimee Salazar @ Primarily Speaking. I also use some from Lucky Little Learners. There are MANY great resources on TpT if you're interested in using these yourself.

Is anyone else experiencing the craziness I've had going on over here?  I have already hit that time of year when I need to change things up a bit.  We have 14 student attendance days in November so I am now 'Watching for Good Behavior' in my classroom.  Each student 'decorated' their own watch and for each day of good behavior, they get a hole punch.  If they get all 12 numbers on the clock face punched by the last day of November, they get to participate in a classroom reward.  It seems to be a good little incentive.  Looks like I may need to come up with a December trick as well.

Holy science! We started our mass/matter unit today.  We learned that all objects have mass and mass can be measured using weight.  We measured the mass in blocks of different objects today.  Next week we will start in our conversation regarding matter.

Football. Football. Football.

High School Playoffs. Elite Eight.

Lovin' Every Minute.

That Is All.

Class. Again. I feel like I am forever taking classes. I spent this past weekend in class, again.  Yep, you read that right. WeekEND. Friday night. Saturday. Sunday. Now, I will say that I thoroughly enjoy my professor.  I take as many classes that I can that he teaches.  There has not been one single day that I do not walk out without some useful and beneficial information that I can use immediately in my classroom. I call that a win.

That's a wrap for now.  Have a great weekend and week ahead. Hang in there. Some much needed break time will be here soon!
