Five for Friday (OK, so maybe it is Saturday:)

Alright, I am back on the bandwagon! This summer has been brutal trying to keep up with blogging world.  Let's be honest, although I was still keeping up with Instagram, Facebook, reading other blogs, etc. Writing on my own blog just wasn't a priority this summer.  My main focus was just spending time with my family and enjoying the time off. BUT, now that school has started, I am back.

I'm here today to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday, yes, I know it's already Saturday! I'm trying people:)

We just finished our second week of school. Oh. My. Goodness. I don't think I've ever had a case of the 'lost voice' like I have this year.  Not really sure why but by Tuesday of this week, my throat and voice were completely shot.  I resorted to Annie and Moby on BrainPopJr. to help me out.  Thank goodness for technology!

So, I've mentioned before that I had to switch buildings within my district this year.  I think it will be a positive change in the long run but there are definitely some things that are new to me that will take some getting used to.  One, for example, is no clip chart! Yay! I've been wanting to get away from the clip chart for awhile but this was a building wide behavior management system in my previous school. My new teaching partners simply use a warning/strike/point system. Nothing fancy. The student gets one warning and then after that they get points taken away.  These points are calculated into their conduct grade for the report card. We reward positive behavior by giving incentive stickers to students.  They collect 10 stickers and they get to move up on the Super Improver Chart.  I already have two littles that have 9 stickers! I'm sure this coming week they'll see their names up on this chart!

This Super Improver Chart came from Jessica at What I Have Learned.  You can find this freebie {here}.

No rewards. No treasure box. No cost. LOVE IT!  For the most part, these kiddos really want these stickers. Now, within the first two weeks of school, we have had to take away  A LOT of points already, unfortunately.  We have some littles that are going to require lots of extra guidance and love:)

Now, I realize that this is not how the Super Improver Wall was intended by Chris Biffle with his Whole Brain Teaching Method.  But, it seems to work.  Stay tuned.

So. I have been doing so well since school has started with packing healthy lunches to bring to school. However, Friday was tough.  Some of my littles have started showing their true personalities. Honeymoon period is over. Thankfully our school also started their chocolate fundraiser. Whew! Chocolate is always the answer. Right?! You got it. This was my lunch and I ate every last bite. Yum. That is all.

Friday Night Lights have started for this family. We love watching our hometown high school football team and our daughter cheering them along.  This will be our life for the next 8 weeks. Love it!

The cheerleaders do a push up for every point scored, after every touchdown.  The running total after the first game is 142.  That is a sign of a great game!

It's no joke people. I cannot believe how tired I am every.single.night. I am falling asleep in chairs before I even think about what I need to do to finish prepping for the next day! I mean really. I fell asleep in the car last night while my husband drove us to the football game. My eyes were heavy while I drove my daughter around today shopping for a homecoming dress. I took a short nap when we got home. I.Never.Take.Naps! I'm so afraid I won't be able to fall asleep at night if I nap so I just don't.  This year, I just cannot fight the urge.  I know I'm not alone. I'm thinking this will pass but right now it is brutal!

Enjoy what's left of the weekend everyone.  One more week and we get a three day weekend. Can I get an Amen?! Until then!
